An ongoing CUDO project

Ocean View
Feeding Scheme

Hot meals, 3 to 4 times a week, for the children and families of Ocean View — running every week since 2020.

About the scheme

Feeding a community, week after week

The Ocean View Feeding Scheme is one of CUDO’s most consistent and impactful ongoing projects. Unlike our annual outreach trips to remote communities, this scheme runs throughout the year — three to four times every week — bringing hot, nutritious lunches directly to children and families in Ocean View, Cape Town.

The scheme was established in 2020 and has run without interruption since, supported by a dedicated team of volunteers and the generous assistance of Fish Hoek NG Kerk. Volunteers prepare fresh meals from donated ingredients, and the food is distributed directly in the community — meeting people where they are.

Beyond the meals, the scheme creates a point of connection in the community — a place where children are known by name, where families feel seen, and where volunteers and residents build genuine relationships over time.

How it works

From kitchen to community

01
Donations & ingredients
Food and funding are sourced through generous donations from individuals, businesses, and our partner Fish Hoek NG Kerk. Every contribution goes directly towards feeding children and families.
02
Volunteers prepare the meals
A dedicated team of volunteers cooks fresh, hot meals from donated ingredients — three to four times a week, every week of the year, without fail.
03
Delivered into the community
Food is brought directly into Ocean View and served on-site. Children and families receive warm meals and, equally importantly, time and connection with people who care.
